My approach with acrylics is close to the egg tempra technique. I use thin films of paint and layer them to create the richness and complexity needed.  Although this is smaller than most of my paintings, I thoroughly enjoyed layering the complex structure in the fur.  Yes, I did start with the eyes. They hint of a reflected woods.
